Continuing the Journey!
Day 31: Beyond The Journey
“And pray
in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep
on praying for all the saints” (Ephesians 6: 18).
Read and Meditate on: Jeremiah 29: 11 – 13
If you
are reading this final section of our journey, I hope that means that you hung
in there, that you overcame all the obstacles that Satan threw at you, and that
you completed your commitment. If so, I
know that God has been honored and you have grown in your relationship with
Him.
If you
weren’t successful in completing the journey, don’t beat yourself up. However, just as when you fall off a horse,
you must get right back on, you need to step up and renew your commitment. Don’t use past failure as an excuse. Whatever time you were able to give Him has
been beneficial. Now, build on that;
Move forward and start again.
For
those of you who were successful, I’m sure you have learned by now that this is
not the end of the journey – it is only the beginning. Most people say that it takes thirty days to
form a habit, and while I don’t like referring to my time with God as a
“habit”, the truth is that during the last thirty days, you have formed a new
way of living – a habit. Don’t back away
from it now. God still has amazing
things for you to learn and experience.
Neither of us can foretell the
future but we know the One who knows what lies ahead. His Word tells us that He knows the plans
that He has for each of us – plans that will give us hope. That doesn’t mean that life will be
easy. Unfortunately, sin is still a
reality in this world, and with it comes pain, suffering, and heartbreak. The good news is that Christ has overcome all
of that, and as we seek Him, we not only find Him but also draw closer to Him.
Don’t stop here! Continue your walk with Him. Find a Bible study that will help you to grow
in your knowledge of Him. Get a
devotional book that will help you stay connected to Him daily. Learn more about prayer by reading other
insights. Incorporate prayer into every
aspect of your life. In my next post,
I’ll provide some suggested resources to get you started.
As you continue your journey, invite
others to join you. Don’t be afraid to
share the peace that you have found.
There’s a line in a hymn that says: “Many things about tomorrow, I don’t
seem to understand, but I know Who holds tomorrow, and I know Who holds my
hand.”[1] I hope you now know, beyond a shadow of a
doubt, Who holds your hand! As you
continue life’s journey, trust Him! He
knows the way, and He won’t let go of your hand.

is a cannon set at the gate of heaven to burst open its gates.” An Unknown Puritan
