Day 29: Pride Goes Before the Fall
Day 29: Pride Leads to Dishonor
Read and Meditate on: Luke 13: 22 – 14: 14
Proverbs 11: 2
Proverbs
16: 18
The finish line is in sight. You now have two choices:
You can pat yourself on the back, post your
accomplishment on Facebook and tweet your friends about your new relationship
with God; or you can fall on your face in humble awareness of the awesome God
that you serve.
Jesus
makes it painfully obvious in His teachings that He will not tolerate those who
attempt to exalt themselves. What you
have accomplished in the last 28 days is nothing less than the very least that
Christ expects from each of us. If your
motive was or is to seek honor and praise for yourself, then you have missed
the entire point. Don’t let your
so-called “accomplishment” blind you from the fact that God desires an intimate
relationship with you. To achieve that,
He requires a spirit of humility. That
attitude alone will give you not only wisdom but also a deeper walk with
Christ.
Don’t
take your eyes off Jesus!
Adoration:

Supplication:
Father, I know that I
am not always humble. Forgive me. Help me to exalt You and to have a spirit of
humility, recognizing that You are the King of the Universe. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“It is no use walking
anywhere to preach unless our walking is our preaching.” St. Francis of Assisi
