Day 18: Renew

Day 18: Renew

Read and Meditate on:        Psalm 51: 1 – 17

                                                      Romans 12: 2

                                                      Philippians 3: 12 – 14

You and I are sinners!  God requires absolute moral perfection, and no matter how hard we try, we can never achieve that by ourselves.  Fortunately, for us, we have one who is the “…atoning sacrifice for our sins…”[1]  While God forgives us and blots out our sins as if they had never happened, He still requires us to confess our sins and repent.

Today, consider the sin in your life – and be assured that there is sin in your life no matter how “good” you may think you are.  Confess your sin to God just as David did.  Allow Him to create in you a pure heart, free from the burden of your sins.  Then, like Paul, you can press on towards the prize which God has called you homeward.

Pray Psalm 51 back to God and be renewed in the forgiveness that He gives!

Supplication:

Father, I confess to You that I am a sinner.  Forgive my transgressions.  Thank You for the blood of Jesus that washes me clean and gives me new life.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
