Seeing the World Through God's Eyes!
We are living in a world where good and evil seem to be turned upside down. Victims are considered wrongdoers while those who commit wrong are treated as victims. Speaking truth, which is God’s Truth, is often condemned as bigoted or hateful. The values that our nation was once founded on are now seen as small-minded or deplorable.
So, what’s
the answer? How do we live in a world
where even God’s Word is often condemned?
I think we must decide whether we will follow the world’s ungodly view or
whether we will truly be God-followers and adhere to His view of all
things.
That’s what is known as a
Christian Worldview. So, how do we
achieve a worldview that looks at everything through God’s eyes?
First, we must strive to take
on the attitude of God. That requires us
to allow God to direct our lives in such a way that we begin to look at life
the same way that He looks at life. If
we have truly surrendered to Christ, we are new creatures in Christ. Let’s act like it!
Next, our eyes must be fixed
on Jesus. God’s ways are not our ways
(Isaiah 55: 8 – 11), so we must strive to learn His ways. The Scripture is clear. We can’t serve two masters (Matthew 6: 22 –
24), so we must decide whether we will follow God’s ways or the ways of the
world.
Once our decision to follow Christ
is made, then comes the realization that we represent Him in all that we
do. We are Christ’s ambassadors! (II
Corinthians 5: 20). For some people, we
may be the only Jesus they ever see. Stop
and consider how you are representing Him today.
Finally, we must develop the
same love and concern that God has for others.
We are not going to change the world with righteous indignation! We can only change the world one soul at a
time. That means seeking people where
they are, whatever their circumstances.
God loves us and forgives us. We
must express that same love and forgiveness to others.
Now, more than ever, we need
to be bold for Christ. That boldness may
put us in uncomfortable situations but consider the cross that Christ died on
for us. It doesn’t get any more uncomfortable
than that. To be bold in our witness, we
need to know the reason for our hope (I Peter 3: 15). That will require spending time with God, in
His Word, and prayer. By staying in the
Word and close communication with God, we can develop that Christian worldview
that will not only enable us to distinguish good from evil, but it will also
give us the boldness to speak the Truth, regardless of the consequences.

1: 16, 17
